Well, it’s that time of year again! Christmas is coming, and what a stressful, migraine inducing time that is!
Sometimes I know exactly what to buy someone, but a lot of times, it’s not that simple…and I procrastinate to the last possible minute, which, by the way, actually causes more stress!
The past few years I’ve started Flipping Furniture for profit while also taking a big interest in DIY home decor & furniture projects. Well you know what that means… tools! I never thought I’d look forward to going to Lowes or Home Depot, and now I want to go more than my husband (I don’t think he actually minds though…).
This Christmas I decided to put together a list of must-have tools every DIY enthusiast wants ( and needs!). Gone is the need for stress and brain throbbing, and it makes life easier for my husband, as he can just read my Christmas wish list right here… makes for a much merrier Christmas if you ask me!
So let’s get started!

This is the coveted machine that allows DIYers the ability to create a multitude of different crafts, from signs of all sizes to paper crafts, iron ons, custom t-shirts, pillows…etc! If you have the budget for it, you literally can’t go wrong with this one!
These inexpensive Stencils are perfect for making signs, customizing pillows, and adding character and interest to painted furniture! Lot’s of designs to choose from, plus they are re-usable! I’ve used these stencils for years on my painted furniture and love them!
Another budget-friendly and much-needed tool that is used on a regular basis at my house! Used for small or large projects. This one is not too big and has a dust collector, which is nice! I love DEWALT tools, we pretty much always stick to this brand!
This is the absolute best tool for aspiring Woodworkers! This Jig makes pocket holes to join two pieces of wood together, the pocket holes hide the screws and make for super strong joints. You can build anything from frames to large furniture in half the time using this tool! I love it! They have less expensive ones, like the Kreg R3 which was my first one, totally works as a starter if your budget is tight!
When it comes to painting furniture, Annie Sloan products are the absolute best! I’ve used her products for 3 years, and although they are on the higher end on price, the quart will last through multiple large pieces of furniture, totally worth the price! Plus, you can’t beat the quality! Your Furniture Flipper will love you forever, I promise!
These are all awesome furniture paints as well, and slightly less pricey than Annie Sloan! A fun idea would be to give the gift of sample sizes from each company for your DIYer to find their favorite!
Ok, there is not a single person who wouldn’t LOVE to get this under the Christmas tree!! Battery powered so no cord dragging. Makes super fast work of any project…trust me, I used to use a hammer…yeah…this thing would be a dream come true for anyone who uses a hammer!! If it’s in the budget, you should definitely get it!
This is a perfect stocking stuffer! I had no idea these genius things existed until I was surveying DIYers for their must-have tools!! Furniture painters everywhere will rejoice! Keeps projects elevated to reduce mess and complete your projects faster!
I don’t have one of these yet, but it’s only because I forget how much I need it! Anyone who’s working with furniture could use one (or two!) of these. Moving a piece from place to place is usually necessary and waiting for help can be a pain!
#11. DEWALT Staple Kit
If you’re looking for an awesome, multi-purpose tool, this one would be fabulous! I use a staple gun for a lot of different projects, it’s really great for re-upholstering, and wood projects of all sorts!
#13. Kreg Clamp Set
I’m a huge fan of Kreg tools, they are super good quality and incredibly useful! Clamps are a necessary tool, especially when you’re working on your own! This set gives you 3 different clamping options, which is pretty awesome!
How genius are these? Perfect for those who like mixing different paint colors to make their own custom color and/or mixing Milk Paint. It just makes measuring paint ratios super easy! And also, i’m always running out of random containers to pour my paint into, these would be perfect!
I don’t have this yet, but now I HAVE to have it!! Perfect for storing paint brushes while your piece is drying. Normally I wrap my paint brush in plastic wrap, so this would be awesome! Another great stocking stuffer idea!
Jig Saw’s are pretty fabulous tools that allow you to easily cut shapes and curves rather than just straight lines. The projects that are opened up to you by having one of these are endless! Definitely a must-have for every DIYer. Now you don’t have to go all crazy and get this one if it’s not in the budget, THIS ONE is half the price and still a fantastic choice!
#17. DEWALT Cordless Drill &
A drill is definitely a must-have tool! In fact, everyone should own a drill! This one is perfect for fitting into tighter spaces, and it’s cordless ( which is my ultimate goal in life for all my tools!). Don’t forget to get the drill bits!
#18. Mod Podge Bundle
#19. Custom DIY T-Shirts
